Jessica Dixon (Aiken) Find Them on Facebook *Will privately send the address to interested parties
Co-op will begin on Tuesday, September 20th
The Pine Forest Explorers is an exclusively outdoor co-op focused on nature play, self-directed learning, gardening, animals, and the arts. We are accepting homeschool families with children 5-10 years old on Tuesdays from 10am-3pm.
Our membership will include a monthly fee that will cover materials used to make the experience an excellent one. The fee is $40 for one child, $50 for two, $60 for three, and is negotiable for more than three (per month). If cost is a difficulty, please reach out to me privately.
It will be weekly, meeting every Tuesday. It will be drop off, but parents are welcome to stay. The farm is off of New Holland Rd past New Bridge.
4. Classical Conversation (North Augusta & Aiken)
What is Classical Conversations really and how much does it cost?
• CC is based on three attributes–Christian in our faith, Classical in our education model, and Community with other homeschool families.
• CC’s goal is to have communities available in several areas so families don’t have to travel far and can get together with others who live close by. It has been a lifesaver for our family since homeschooling can feel lonely at times.
• Our communities have monthly Moms’ Nights Out as well as monthly field trips. We meet one day a week for a total of 24 weeks out of the school year. Art and Science projects are included every community day.
• CC is different from a co-op in that we have a set curriculum that extends through 12th grade. The program has been in place for over 20 years and is tried and true. The program is the same for every community worldwide as well. So, if you have to move, you can pick up right where you left off with a new community. And it allows an easy transition for your children!
• Although fees are required up front, the total breaks down to $28.25/wk for 24 weeks with each additional student in the family $18.75/wk. This does not include a facility fee which varies for each community (usually the difference ends up being a couple of dollars/wk).
• We aren’t an MLM program or anything like that. The tuition stays within the community to compensate the parents who serve as tutors and the Director. I am always open to discuss how the program works and how it breaks down for anyone interested.
• We are, however, a company with its own bookstore and curriculum (I think Sonlight would be a similar company to compare it to). The difference is we do it together in community where we can ask questions and offer support and encouragement.
Classical Conversations of North Augusta and Aiken have some openings left for the 22-23 school year!
I know there are a lot of options for homeschoolers these days and what works for one family may not work for another! That is the beauty and freedom of homeschooling, isn’t it? If you would like to learn more about Classical Conversations to see if this program would work for your family, let me know!
